Liffey River

Liffeydublin The Liffey is a river in the Republic of Ireland, which flows through Dublin, dividing the city in two. It rises near Kippure, a mountain in County Wicklow, and flows for around 75 miles. You can take boat tours along the river through Dublin City center, it is a great way to explore the city sights.

Christ Church Cathedral

Christchurch The Christ Church Cathedral is the oldest building in Dublin, dating from the 11th century, with a huge restoration in the 19th century. It has a very interesting crypt, with impressive carvings, and you can enjoy the exhibition "Dublinia", offering a lot of information about Dublin during the middle ages, you won't regret it!

Kilmainham Gaol

Kilmainham Kilmainham Gaol was a prison in Dublin, now transformed into a museum. This place played an important part in Irish history, many leaders of the Irish rebellions were imprisioned at this place, and some of them even executed. The prison was built in 1796, and served as a prison for 140 years.

Republic of Ireland

Republicofireland The Republic of Ireland shares the island of Ireland with Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom) located off the coast of northwest Europe. The country is divided into 26 counties, and the major cities are Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford. The Irish are mostly of indigenous Neolithic ancestry, with some population of English, Scottish, Anglo-Norman, Viking and Welsh ancestry. The Celtic culture and language forms an important part of national identity, being Irish and English the official languages.
